Peer Review Process

The Journal of Indonesia Scientific Society (JISS) implements a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of all published articles.

All submitted manuscripts first undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to assess their suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, adherence to author guidelines, and compliance with ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected without external review.

Eligible manuscripts are then subjected to a double-blind peer review process, in which both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area.

The reviewers assess the manuscript based on several criteria, including originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the field, and contribution to scientific knowledge. Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editorial decision may fall into one of the following categories:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Accept with major revisions
  • Reject

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. The revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the overall quality of the manuscript.

JISS is committed to maintaining a fair, objective, and timely review process, with an average review duration of approximately 2–4 weeks.
